Representatives of four West African cities working with the Partnership on food policy interventions—Freetown, Sierra Leone; Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire; Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso; and Dakar, Senegal—participated in a January 23-26, 2023 workshop in Dakar on the technical and legal considerations of adopting nutrition standards.
"The workshop was particularly important because it brought together cities that live the same sociological realities. High salt consumption and other factors are creating public health problems that require action. All four cities have decided to pursue policies that protect populations from NCDs linked to poor nutrition."
